Following Bayern Munich’s 2-1 triumph over RB Leipzig, forward Harry Kane emphasized the need for a sustained winning streak to revitalize their season. Kane, who scored both goals in the victory, including a late winner, acknowledged the importance of building on this success after a challenging week marked by the announcement of coach Thomas Tuchel’s impending departure.
“We need to keep doing what we’re doing. It was good to win this game, but we need to go on a run until the end of the year,” stated Kane, emphasizing the team’s responsibility to the club and their manager. He highlighted the necessity to show a strong reaction after the previous week’s setbacks.
Regarding his connection with teammates, Kane mentioned practicing the opening goal with Jamal Musiala during training and expressed his desire to strengthen these bonds. Tuchel had previously mentioned Kane’s dissatisfaction with the service, and Kane sees room for improvement, saying, “We need more connections with each other. The last few weeks, we have not had it, but we can build on what we achieved today.”
As the Bundesliga’s leading scorer with 27 goals and 31 in all competitions this season, Kane acknowledged the challenging season and the eight-point gap to table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen. Despite the setback, he emphasized the need to keep fighting and push forward. Bayern faces Lazio in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on March 5 and Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
