The Nottingham Forest man will be banned for the next 5 months

Harry Toffolo has received a 5-month long suspension for 375  breaches of betting rules after the defender himself confessed of the wrongdoings.

The 28-year-old will be prohibited to play football until February 2024 and will also miss the majority of the 2024-25 campaign.

The Forest defender received in addition a £20,956 fine.

The 375 breaches have occurred in the period between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017 as Toffolo openly admitted to having passed on information that was used for betting. He was a Norwich player back then, playing on loan at Swindon.

Toffolo made 21 appearances last season for Forest after e transfer from Huddersfield and has made 1 appearance this campaign – a substitution in the Carabao Cup exit to Burnley.

It is the second severe case of betting breach in the Premier League after Ivan Toney was banned for 8 months earlier this earlier. Unlike the Forest defender, Toney’s ban was immediate and he was prohibited to train until September 17 and play until January 17.
