The Belgian said he wasn't having fun on the pitch

After almost a month since his surprise retirement from football, Eden Hazard has revealed he hasn’t missed being on the pitch.

The 32-year-old appeared at the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday night and shared his thoughts on life after retirement.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid player admitted that he is enjoying his time with his family and that he wasn’t having fun on the pitch.

“I watch it on TV when I can. I do other things also but at the moment I don’t miss playing football. Let’s see in a few months.” he said.

The 32-year-old had an illustrious career at Chelsea, bagging 110 goals in 352 games, winning 2 Premier League titles along the way. However, his spell at Real Madrid never  really got under way as he was plagued with injuries and fitness issues.

“I had always said that I would stop as soon as I didn’t have fun on the pitch anymore. I didn’t want to go and play somewhere for the money,” he added.

“It was the best solution. I didn’t enjoy training anymore… And I wasn’t playing anymore. The decision was simple.”
