Boston took a 2-0 series lead in the Finals against Dallas.

Jrue Holiday finished with 26 points and 11 boards, and Jayson Tatum compensated for a low-scoring game with 12 assists and 9 boards as the Boston Celtics won against the Dallas Mavericks 105-98 at TD Garden in Boston, MA, to take a 2-0 advantage in the NBA Finals.

Luka Doncic, who was listed as questionable to participate in the match 2 hours before the game, finished with a triple-double – 32 points, 11 assists, and 11 boards – the 1st NBA Finals triple-double in Dallas organization history. But the Slovenian failed to score a running floater from 3-point range with 28 seconds left, ending Mavs’ last opportunity at a comeback.

The series continues in Dallas as Game 3 is in 3 days. Mavs must triumph in the upcoming match or in Game 4 at the end of the week to avoid sweep and play again at TD Garden.

Boston triumphed in the 1st 2 matches in the NBA Finals for the 9th time. They won the title in the previous 8, and have closed the series before Game 7 in any of them.

Jaylen Brown finished with 21 points, Jayson scored 18, and Derrick White also notched 18 for top-seeded Celtics.

Kyrie Irving finished with 16 points as he has lost 12 straight matches vs. Boston.
