The Houston Texans and OT Tytus Howard agreed on a 3-campaign, 56-million dollar extension with almost 37 million dollars guaranteed.
Tytus, a 1st round selection by the Houston in 2019, has played 54 matches for the organization in the last 4 campaigns. The offensive tackle was set to compete in the upcoming campaign on the 5th year option of his rookie contract.

After the end of the past season, Tytus was keen to sign a long-term deal with the NFL franchise from Houston, as he added that he wanted to spend his entire NFL career with the team.
The deal means that Houston shores up both OT spots protecting rookie QB C.J. Stroud, as the franchise also signed in a 3-year, 75 million dollar deal the left tackle Laremy Tunsil in the offseason that made Laremy the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league. The organization also inked right guard Shaq Mason to a 3-season, 36-million-dollar extension a few months ago.
