In September, the Premier League side started with a goalless draw against Milan at San Siro in their opening group match.
Wednesday will be Newcastle’s 1st Champions League clash at their stadium since a 2-0 defeat vs. Barcelona in 2003.
“I already count the hours until I experience the home atmosphere and what our supporters create,” admitted the Newcastle head coach.
“I think it will be a fantastic night, and hopefully, our performance on the pitch will contribute to that, too.
“The supporters will bring their positivity, noise, enthusiasm, and love for the football. It’s our job to bring that powerfully and positively when we play. You can use too much emotion on the pitch, but in my opinion, we’ve been getting that balance right at St James’ Park.”
