Hurricanes beat Devils 3-2 after OT and clinch the series

Jesper Fast missed scoring an early open-net in the regular time. Still, he was the hero in the overtime as he notched the winning goal on power-play as Carolina Hurricanes topped New Jersey Devils 3-2 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC, and clinched the series from the East 2^nd Round 4-1.

Slavin and Brent Burns notched the other goals for the Hurricanes as the goalie, Frederik Andersen, stopped 27 shots.

Carolina will be back to the Eastern Conference final for the 1^st time since 2019 as the franchise is playing in its 5^th straight postseason.

Their next opponent will be the winner of the Florida Panthers – Toronto Maple Leafs matchup, as the Floridian franchise leads 3-1.

Dawson Mercer and Timo Meier notched for New Jersey, and Schmid made 26 saves, but the Devils must go home and can start preparing for the next season.
