Carolina eliminates New Jersey after 5 games.

Jesper Fast missed scoring an early open-net in the regular time. Still, he was the hero in the overtime as he notched the winning goal on power-play as Carolina Hurricanes topped New Jersey Devils 3-2 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC, and clinched the series from the East 2nd Round 4-1.

Slavin and Brent Burns notched the other goals for the Hurricanes as the goalie, Frederik Andersen, stopped 27 shots.

Carolina will be back to the Eastern Conference final for the 1st time since 2019 as the franchise is playing in its 5th straight postseason.

Their next opponent will be the winner of the Florida PanthersToronto Maple Leafs matchup, as the Floridian franchise leads 3-1.

Dawson Mercer and Timo Meier notched for New Jersey, and Schmid made 26 saves, but the Devils must go home and can start preparing for the next season.
