The 1st NHL playoff game ended with Carolina's victory.

Sebastian Aho and Stefan Noesen notched from power plays to push Carolina Hurricanes to win against New York Islanders 2-1 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC.

Noesen netted on Burns’s shot for the winning goal that was scored in the 2nd period. Goaltender Antti Raanta stopped 25 shots to secure his team the victory and dismissed every opportunity that the team from New York had to notch with 1 more player on the ice.

Hurricanes didn’t allow NY Islanders to score from 4 power plays and won the 1st game in the series.

Ryan Pulock scored the goal for the franchise from the Big Apple. Sorokin made 35 saves, but his effort fell short.

The next match from the series is on Wednesday before both teams travel to New York.
