The Indianapolis Colts have waived season-opener starter Deon Jackson and inked RB Trey Sermon from the training squad, the franchise shared today.

Deon rushed for just 14 yards on 13 carries and won only 14 yards on 5 receptions in Week One 31-21 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Zack Moss replaced him from the 1st minute on the field in Week 2 against the Texans. Moss gained 107 yards on 22 carries and had an 11-yard touchdown run in the Indianapolis 31-20 win.
With 2021 NFL rushing champ Jonathan Taylor being sidelined, Zack will be the 1st choice for the organization on Sunday vs. Baltimore Ravens.
Deon rushed for 281 yards and 2 TDs and caught 35 passes for 223 yards and 1 TD in 27 matches (3 as a starter) in the last 3 years with the Colts.
