The Italian side had to work hard for the three points

Inter clinched a crucial 2-1 win over Salzburg in their Champions League clash at Giuseppe Meazza. The Italian side opened the scoring first, but was leveled before a penalty kick decided the outcome of the game.

Inter took the lead in the 19th minute. Henrikh Mkhitaryan passed to Davide Frattesi, who deflected the ball on the path of Alexis Sanchez and he slot it into Schlager’s net.

In the 57th minute, RB Salzburg came back into the game. Maurits Kjaergaard assisted Oskar Gloh, who scored 1:1 from the edge of the penalty area.

However, Inter quickly got their lead back after Hakan Calhanoglu scored from the penalty spot in the 64th minute. Ten minutes later Frattesi crossed the ball to Lautaro Martinez, who scored a third goal for his team, but it was dissallowed for offside.
