Maintaining control of the game, Inter retained possession of the ball. In the closing moments, Frattesi secured the third goal, securing a decisive victory for Inter. Despite Chiro Immobile managing to score and seemingly reducing the deficit a minute later, the goal was subsequently disallowed.
