According to one of Lionel Messi’s agents, Jerome Meary, who was interviewed by L’Equipe this week, discussions between the Argentine superstar’s entourage and Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas are still ongoing.
“He is a priority number one for Jorge Mas, the owner of Inter Miami. They have been talking since before Messi joined PSG, but the talks have started again and Mas has spent a lot of time with Messi’s representatives in Qatar,” Meary said.
Messi’s contract with PSG expires this summer and despite that he will most probably be a free agent in the summer, not a lot of clubs can get him because of Financial Fair Play rules. Inter Miami must comply with MLS’s strict salary cap, but it appears the league is on the club’s side.
