Inter owner Steven Zhang expressed his excitement after his team qualified for the Champions League semi-finals after the 3-3 draw with Benfica, stressing that it is an opportunity for the Nerazzurri to get revenge on city rivals Milan for losing the Scudetto title last season.
“It means a lot to all of us because we started this project when most of our players had no experience in the Champions League and had not won any trophies. But now we are winners who strive to fight to the end in this tournament. Ever since I’ve been at Inter, the city derby has always been one of my favorite games because of the excitement, but also because we want revenge for last year and the history between us.”, he said.
“Every season we aim to go all the way in all tournaments. Obviously, the Champions League is the most difficult of them, especially at the moment for the Italian clubs, but we definitely dreamed about it. I think every one of our remaining games in Serie A will be like a final for us. Finishing in the top 4 is the essence of the season. All the players know it and we will fight to the very end for it. I ask the fans to have faith in us as everyone at the club will fight to the end. We will continue to dream and try to achieve the best possible result,” Zhang added.
