Inter Milan 1-0 victory in the first leg at the San Siro proved enough for the Italian side, as neither team could brake the deadlock in the return leg in Portugal on Tuesday night.

The Italian side had to go through all the circles of hell as in the closing stages Mehdi Taremi hit the post and seconds later the crossbar. On top of that Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana had to make plenty of critical saves to keep the match at 0-0.
Brazilian winger Pepe saw red deep into stoppage time just to compound Porto’s frustrating night.
The Portuguese team were without the 40-year old veteran Pepe and the suspended Otavio, who received a red card for two bookings in the first leg.
The home side were the sharper team in the first half, but Porto goalkeeper was unbreakable as he denied shots from Mateus Uribe and Taremi.
In the second half the pressure on Inter intensified, but Porto were unable to find a breakthrough. Onana denied Marko Grujic, while Denzel Dumfries cleared a ball off the line, as Inter defended brilliantly.
Edin Dzeko provided the visiting side with their best goal-scoring opportunity as the Bosnian striker low-curled shot was denied by Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Inter find themselves among other elite teams in the Champions league last 8 such as AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Tomorrow fixtures will decide which teams will take the remaining two slots. The draw for the quarter-finals will be held at Uefa’s headquarter in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.
