Kyrie will remain in Dallas for the foreseeable future.

Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving is declining his 43 million dollar player option and plans to ink a 3-season, 119 million dollar deal with the organization.

Dallas officials and the player’s agent negotiated the new contract that keeps Kyrie out of free agency and with the Mavs in the future. The new contract features a player option in the 2027-28 campaign.

Kyrie shared that he chose to remain with the Mavs after both sides wanted so, as he wants to build a legacy with the franchise, and that Dallas trusts him to return to his best level and win a title when he is healthy after he tore his ACL.

Kyrie averaged almost 25 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists in the past campaign before sustaining his season-ending injury in his left knee in March.

The Mavs’ star will miss the beginning of the new 2025-26 campaign, but the hopes are that he will play again at the beginning of 2026.

During his time in Dallas, Irving has averaged almost 26 points, 5 boards, and over 5 assists, and has been praised by his teammates and loved by the fans of the Mavericks for his professionalism and leadership.
