The guard won't travel to Spain for the pre-season clash
Kyrie Irving will miss one of the most anticipated basketball games before the start of the NBA season between the Dallas Mavericks and Real Madrid in the Spanish capital.
The matchup will be the first between a team from the NBA and a team from the Euroleague in the last seven years. Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd revealed that the team will be without one of its big stars.
Over the summer, Irving renewed his contract with Dallas, agreeing to a new three-year, $126 million deal. The NBA team, however, will include former Real Madrid basketball player Luka Doncic, who led the Spanish club to the EuroLeague title in 2017.
