Italian referee Luigi Nasca will not be part of matches in the upcoming rounds of Serie A, according to reports from “Gazzetta dello Sport” and “Sport Mediaset.”
Nasca was specifically in charge of VAR in yesterday’s 2-1 victory for Inter over Verona, a match in which the Nerazzurri should have had their winning goal dissallowed because of a foul from Alessandro Bastoni.
The head of the local referee committee, Gianluca Rocchi, considered the goal a serious mistake and, as a result, intends to penalize Nasca. In the near future, Nasca will be assigned matches in Serie B but not in the Italian elite. According to reports, Rocchi is dissatisfied with the 46-year-old referee’s performance in other matches during the season, including Lecce – Bologna and Juventus – Bologna.
On the other hand, the referee of the Inter vs. Verona match, Micael Fabri, will not face sanctions, but it is unlikely that he will be assigned matches in the next Serie A round.
