Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford are set to clash in one of the most highly anticipated boxing showdowns in modern history. The blockbuster bout will take place in Las Vegas on Friday, September 13, under the banner of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Riyadh Season — and thanks in large part to the sport’s new power broker, Turki Alalshikh.

The fight will be broadcast live on Netflix, marking the platform’s biggest participation in combat sports to date, and will be available to all 300+ million subscribers at no additional cost. Alalshikh, Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation, is partnering with UFC president Dana White and promotional group Sela to stage what’s being billed as the “Fight of the Century.”
Alalshikh promised the fans “something incredible”: “On September 13, Canelo and Crawford, two boxing legends, will finally face off in the fight of the century. Together with Dana White and Sela, we will deliver something truly incredible in Las Vegas that fans around the world can watch on Netflix.”

“Turki wants the biggest fights, and that’s my kind of energy. Are you kidding me — the first boxing event I help promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? This is once-in-a-lifetime stuff.”, Dana White said.
Canelo Álvarez shared he is thrilled to make history again. “On September 13, I’ll show the world why I’m still the best pound-for-pound fighter.”
“My record is perfect for a reason. No matter the opponent or the division, I always win. September 13, I’ll prove again that I’m the best boxer on the planet.”, replied Terence Crawford.
