LeBron James showcased his dominance with 37 points, including six crucial points in the final minute, while Anthony Davis returned from injury to contribute 36 points and 14 rebounds, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a hard-fought 123-120 victory over the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
Davis, back on the court after recovering from a left eye injury that sidelined him in the Lakers’ previous game against Golden State, displayed his scoring prowess by shooting 11 of 22 from the field. Meanwhile, James delivered a stellar performance, shooting an efficient 13 for 20 to help the Lakers snap a two-game losing streak.
For the Grizzlies, GG Jackson led the scoring effort with 31 points, supported by a career-high 28 points from Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jake LaRavia. Jordan Goodwin also made significant contributions with 23 points and 16 rebounds.
Despite Memphis holding a narrow 99-98 lead early in the fourth quarter, the game remained tightly contested throughout. LaRavia’s two free throws with 1:06 remaining gave the Grizzlies a slim 118-117 advantage. However, James responded with a crucial drive and converted on both ends of a pair of free throws, propelling the Lakers to victory as they pulled away in the closing moments.
