Jamie Garagher expressed his anger about Liverpool’s transfer policy as the Reds were beaten twice in a space of a day by Chelsea in deals over Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
Jurgen Klopp’s team had initially agreed terms with both clubs – Brighton and Southampton – but were sensationally snubbed by both players.
Reflecting on the matter the infuriated Garagher said: ‘It’s been an absolute mess! It’s a JOKE…embarrassing!’
The Sky Sports pundit pointed out the difficult situation Liverpool find themselves in after failing to find reinforcements in midfield.
According to him, the Reds were required to sign a midfielder 12 months ago and are in a desperate need to do so after the departure of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
