Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. won Defensive Player of the Year. He is the 2nd youngest player to secure the victory.

In the 2nd place is Brook Lopez from Milwaukee Bucks, and in the 3rd is Evan Mobley from Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jackson Jr. had 56 1st place votes from 100 possible and 391 points – more than 90 points ahead of the 2nd Lopez and almost 300 more than the 3rd Mobley.
The juries that voted for the award were sports journalists and broadcasters.
Jaren’s (23) accomplishment to win at his age is only matched by Alvin Robertson, Kawhi Leonard, and Dwight Howard. Only Dwight was younger by a few months when he won DPOY.

Grizzlies star finished in 1st place the regular season for 2nd straight season in blocked shots (three per match). His franchise ended with the 3rd best defense.
“Team defense helps us. It goes a long way,” the happy player said on the TNT broadcast that reported the award winner.
