Utah Jazz star Jaren Jackson Jr. will have a procedure to remove a growth in his left knee, the organization revealed today.
Jaren, a 2-time All-Star acquired from the Grizzlies in a blockbuster deal at the deadline, will not play this campaign anymore. It is expected that he will be healthy before the start of the training camp.
Jackson, the 2022-23 Defensive Player of the Year, who is averaging almost 20 points and 6 boards per match in the current campaign, will have the surgery during the All-Star break.
According to sources, Jaren is not feeling pain in the knee, but doctors deemed it necessary that he undergo the procedure now to avoid expansion.
In his 3 matches with Utah, the forward averaged almost 23 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists while being on the court 24 minutes, sitting out 4th quarters.
Rumors were that the forward didn’t play in the 4th quarters as the Jazz were trying to tank, but now it’s clear that this happened because of his problem, and now he will not play until next campaign.
