Mark Scheifele notched his 42nd goal, Connor Hellebuyck stopped 33 shots, and Winnipeg got the 2nd wild card spot in the West on Tuesday.
“We battled our adversity. It might have taken us a little bit longer, but I think we figured ourselves out,” said Hellebuyck, who made his 13th consecutive start. “We have the character in the room, and now we know what our game is.”
Adam Lowry and Mason Appleton also scored for the Jets, which won 5 of their last 6 matches and dropped Nashville from the race.
The only goal for Wild netted Kirill Kaprizov in the 3rd period. That was his 40th goal this season. With this defeat, Minnesota will not have home advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Winnipeg will make a trip to face Colorado on Thursday, while Minnesota will travel to play against Nashville on the same day.
