Dustin claimed that joining the LIV was the reason he was not selected for the Ryder Cup.

Dustin Johnson thinks he would have been part of the USA’s Ryder Cup team in 2023 if he hadn’t joined LIV Golf.

DJ, a 2-time major champ, will need to watch the tournament from the television despite being part of 5 previous US teams. The Ryder Cup will be played in Rome, Italy, as the tournament begins on September 29th.

“I would like to be a part of the team,” the golfer shared to The Palm Beach Post. “But truthfully, I haven’t played my best golf during the current campaign. But have I played at the level to secure my place in the team? Yeah. I didn’t have the best season. Was it good enough to be selected for the Ryder Cup? I think I do.

“If I had been part of the PGA Tour, I would be getting ready to play at the Ryder Cup. Do I think I can help my country? Definitely.”
