With minutes lead ahead of main competitor Tadej Pogačar, who also won the Tour de France in straight years – 2020 and 2021, Jonas know that he won the Tour before the beginning of the final stage on Sunday, which is ceremonial.
Vingegaard kept the tradition of drinking champagne with his Visma-Jumbo teammates as they were celebrating the victory in the 110th edition of the Tour.
“It’s been a phenomenal season so far. What a Tour de France for our team,” the Tour de France winner shared after the finish of the Tour. “We started the plans early, and once again, I wouldn’t achieve it without my Visma-Jumbo teammates. It’s been a very solid competition for us, and I’m thankful to each one of my team.
Jonas added that tonight he will celebrate, but after that, he will begin to prepare for the La Vuelta, where he will try to win another title this year.
