Joselu seized the opportunity in the 88th minute, capitalizing on a fumble by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to level the score. Just two minutes later, Joselu, formerly of Stoke City, delivered the decisive blow with a close-range finish from Antonio Rudiger’s pass.
Initially ruled offside, VAR intervened to overturn the decision, confirming Joselu’s onside position and igniting jubilant celebrations among the Real Madrid faithful at the Bernabeu. The final scoreline of 4-3 on aggregate sealed Real Madrid’s place in the final.
