That was the Briton’s 1st stoppage victory in 2 years and a half and secured Joshua a blockbuster bout against Deontay Wilder at the beginning of the next year.
Anthony’s record now stands at 26 victories – with 23 stoppages – and 3 losses.
After the win, Anthony climbed out of the ring, made contact with fans, and drank beer with MMA superstar Conor McGregor.
The Finish Helenius – who accepted to face Joshua with only days to prepare after Dillian Whyte had an unsuccessful drug test – lost his 5th bout in his career from 36 fights.
Joshua said after the victory that this is a fickle sport and that you must accept the reality and not get your head too high, but he’s happy that he did what he needed to do to triumph tonight.
