ESPN’s pundit Kendrick Perkins made a bold statement about the offseason transfer activities, suggesting that the Lakers may be interested in James Harden.
The veteran guard is currently in his final year with the Philadelphia 76ers and may opt to switch teams as a free agent.
If it were to happen, it will mean that Harden will return to his native Los Angeles, where he attended Artesia High School in Lakewood.
If Harden opt to stay with the Sixers he will receive $35.6 million, but many believe he will chose to leave instead.
The 33-year-old’s future has been a hot topic throughout the regular season with rumors linking him with a return to the Rockets. However, Perkins implied that a move to Lakers will be his best chance towards winning a title.
Harden enjoyed a decent season with Philadelphia, averaging 21 points, 10.7 assists and 6.1 rebounds.
