Sacramento Kings took care of one of the main jobs this summer, finalizing a new contract extension for head coach Mike Brown on Friday/ This new deal comes in the wake of Sacramento missing the playoffs, following their first-round exit the previous year.
Mike Brown, who led the Kings to a 94-70 overall record in his two seasons, has performed far better than any previous Kings coach in the last 15 years. The 2023 NBA Coach of the Year will remain in Sacramento through the 2026-27 season after signing the new deal.

Kings owner Vivek Ranadive met Brown halfway following reports that Brown was seeking $10 million per year in his new contract. While Sacramento’s initial offer was $7 million annually, the parties settled on $8.5 million per season for the next three years. Ultimately, this compromise is seen as a positive move for the Kings, securing their successful coach for the foreseeable future.
