Ko Jin-young became the first player to retain the HSBC Women’s World championship after a stellar performance, which saw her take a two-shot victory with a three-under par 69 to win under 17.

The South Korean, who struggled throughout the 2022 season due to a wrist injury was more than delighted to get back to the winning ways.
After clinching the title and the 270, 000$ first price, the current number 5 burst into tears as it was her first trophy since March last year.
“It’s a great honour to defend this title and I had a great week, and a long week as well, with all the rain,” she said. “Before this week I worked really hard. I knew I was defending so I wanted to get one more trophy. It paid off and I’m really happy.”
Nelly Korda, currently number 2, finished the event second, after also shooting 69.
Danielle Kang (68) and Allisen Corpuz (69) were joint third on 14 under with Japan’s Ayaka Furue (67).
