The Czech player triumphed with her 1st Wimbledon title.

World number 32 Barbora Krejcikova won against world number 7 Jasmine Paolini 2-1 sets to win the Grand Slam on grass in London for the 1st time in her career.

Barbora in the past triumphed with the Roland-Garros and the doubles title at Wimbledon, but this is her 1st singles trophy at Wimbledon.

Krejcikova is the 2nd Czech to get the crown in 2 years, after Marketa Vondrousova’s shocking triumph a year ago.

Barbora dominated in the 1st set to win it 6-2 after converting 2 breaks from 4 chances as she didn’t give Paolini any break chances. However, in the 2nd set, the roles reversed and the Italian converted 2 breaks from 4 opportunities as Barbora had only 1 break point but Jasmine saved it.

In the 3rd set, 1 break was enough for the victory and the title as Krejcikova broke Paolini’s serve when the Italian was serving to get 4-3 lead, but Barbora was the one that secured that lead.

Krejcikova needed 3 match balls to close the set and the match and to win Wimbledon.
