James added 31 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, sealing the victory by scoring Los Angeles’ final four points from the free-throw line.
Knicks star Jalen Brunson was dominant with 39 points and 10 assists but suffered a right ankle injury in overtime after a collision with Austin Reaves and James. After a review, Reaves was called for a foul, allowing Brunson to make both free throws before exiting the game.
With the game tied at 107, Jaxson Hayes put the Lakers ahead for good with a pair of free throws in the final minute. James then extended the lead after Karl-Anthony Towns was called for a loose ball foul, securing the Lakers’ comeback win.
