After Austin Reaves carried Los Angeles in the past few days, Luka Doncic returned at the end of the week and took back the leading role after scoring at least 40 points for another time in the Lakers’ 117-112 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Slovenian star, who was sidelined in the previous 3 matches with an injury, flew for the game solo to join his teammates and after that notched a match-high 44 points.

It was Luka’s 3rd consecutive 40-point match after notching 43 on their opener vs. the Warriors, and after that, he finished with 49 points vs. the Timberwolves, becoming the only basketballer in the league history other than Wilt Chamberlain to top 40 points in 3 matches in a row to begin the campaign. (Wil did it 2 times: 7 consecutive matches in 1962-63 and 5 in a row in 1961-62).
“I feel amazing,” revealed Doncic after another top performance from him on the court. “But the most important thing for me is for the Los Angeles Lakers to win, and that’s what makes me happy the most is that we won another match.”
