The LA Lakers are expected to begin contacting coaching candidates in several days with the mission of sitting assistants and former head coaches who are less popular.
Los Angeles VP of Basketball Operations and general manager Rob Pelinka has been scouting several manager candidates, including JJ Redick, but the 1st wave of requests for interview permission will be with those coaches with whom the franchise hadn’t met in the past, or they don’t have enough information for them.
Lakers GM claims that the next boss of the organization must be a “grinder.”
A few of the names that will be interviewed are assistant candidates, such as Heat’s Chris Quinn and Pelicans’ James Borrego, among many others.
Los Angeles dismissed Darvin Ham after 2 campaigns at the beginning of the month. Darvin was 90-74 overall with a trip to the West Finals in his debut campaign, followed by a 5-match matchup defeat against the Denver Nuggets in the 1st round this campaign.
REPORT: The Lakers want LeBron back on whatever terms he wants, whether it’s a 1 year, 2 year deal, or 3 year deal, per @mcten.
