Las Vegas made Pierce their interim head coach on Halloween after dismissing Josh McDaniels.
After the franchise’s campaign-ending 27-14 triumph against the Denver Broncos, owner Mark Davis shared with the media that he is “really impressed” about the work Pierce did in leading the organization to a 5-4 finish after he received the task to be the manager.
When the owner 1st elevated Pierce from linebackers coach to interim coach, he claimed that he did not want Antonio to “manage” as much as “lead” and “delegate.”
Las Vegas players bought into Pierce’s leadership style, with All-Pro WR Davante Adams claiming he would “run through a wall for Pierce.” 3-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who had a career-high almost 15 sacks this campaign, also admitted to the media that he backs Antonio for the head coaching position.
“It’s legendary,” Crosby shared after the end of the season.
