Lazio are having very shaky start of the season and currently sit just four points above the relegation zone, with reports in Italy claiming tensions between manager Maurizio Sarri and president Claudio Lotito are running high.
The Eagles lost the derby with AC Milan on Saturday, leaving them with just seven points from the start of the season and after the game at San Siro, Sarri harshly criticized the club’s transfer policy in the summer, which further infuriated Lotito.
“Everyone is aware that the players I wanted were not brought in, so I have to be content with what I have available,” said Lotito after the meeting.
Local publication Corriere dello Sport adds that the coach wanted Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo and Piotr Zelinski from Napoli in his team, as well as Arkadiusz Milik, who eventually signed with Juventus. At the same time, the coach did not want to get Djibril Sou from Eintracht and Fred from Manchester United, who were offered to him by Lotio. In the end, Valentin Castellanos arrived at Olimpico, who was supposed to be the choice for the attack in the absence of Ciro Immobile, as well as Daichi Kamada and Matteo Genduzzi, who were supposed to replace the sold Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
