LeBron James continues to extend his career like nobody else has done it before, becoming the 1st basketballer in the National Basketball Association to reach 40,000 career points today at Crypto.com Arena.
LeBron came into the LA Lakers’ match vs. the Denver Nuggets needing 9 points to secure the phenomenal achievement. James did it with a driving layup at the 10:39 mark of the 2nd quarter.

“No player has ever achieved it,” LeBron shared when asked about the point total in the past few days. “And for me to have the chance at this point and time in my career, I really appreciate it.
Does it sit among the most important things that I achieved in my career? No. But does it mean something? Without a doubt. Yes. Why wouldn’t it? To have the chance to accomplish things in the NBA, with the greatest basketballers ever to play the game here, has been an aim, and to hit feats and have milestones throughout my career are all dreams that I would be happy to achieve at one point.
LeBron James just became the first player in NBA history to surpass 40,000 career points.
He was also the first to reach 10K assists and 10K rebounds.

LeBron passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s career scoring total of 38,387 points in the past campaign to overtake the heralded center’s perch as NBA’s all-time scoring leader, a record Abdul-Jabbar held for almost 40 seasons.
