LA Lakers superstar LeBron James made his campaign debut vs. the Utah Jazz today, starting his NBA-record 23rd year.
The legend finished with 11 points, 4-of-7 shooting, to go along with 12 assists in his team’s 140-125 victory. LeBron spent 30 minutes on the court and scored twice from the 3-point line on 3 attempts.
James missed the 1st 14 matches of the campaign, with sciatica, a nerve issue that affected his lower back and kept him sidelined for the start of the season.
With his start vs. Utah, LeBron became the 1st NBA basketballer in history to compete in 23 campaigns, breaking a tie with Vince Carter.
He returned to training with the Lakers at the beginning of the week, joining his Los Angeles teammates for his first 5-on-5 action with them since his organization’s 1st-round postseason elimination vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves in the spring.
LeBron, already the league’s all-time scorer, entered the game 50 matches behind Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish for the all-time lead in matches played, and now is 496 assists behind Jason Kidd for the 3rd spot in the all-time list.
