Ferrari’s disappointing performance at the Canadian Grand Prix was a blow to the team’s fans, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz both finishing far from the front. However, Leclerc revealed in Barcelona that the team had resolved the power unit issues that plagued them in Canada.
“We found a solution, but I can’t go into details about what exactly it was,” Leclerc explained. “In Canada, we were losing a lot of time on the straights. The power unit wasn’t working properly, and we decided to retire. However, we managed to identify the problem, and the team fixed it.”
Leclerc expressed optimism about Ferrari’s prospects in Barcelona, attributing his confidence to the development of the SF-24 and the team’s ongoing efforts to improve their performance.
“We are still not performing well enough on Saturdays, which is another issue we’ve been working on in recent weeks,” added the driver from Monaco. “It was the same in Canada, but I am confident that here we will be on the level of the fastest.”, he said.
Ferrari has not been performing well in Barcelona in recent years as their last win in Catalunya is dating far back in 2013 when the home favorite Fernando Alonso was driving for the Scuderia.
