At the launch of the 2024 car, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz expressed optimism about a vehicle they anticipate to be more user-friendly and adaptable to the demands of the extensive Formula One season.
As the most successful team in the sport, having participated in every world championship since 1950, Ferrari faced a setback last year, finishing third overall behind Mercedes and dominant champions Red Bull.

Charles Leclerc from Monaco commented that the SF-24, described by the team as a departure from the past two years’ tradition, is expected to be less sensitive and easier to handle compared to the challenging and disappointing car of the previous season. Following the online reveal and a physical launch at the Fiorano test track, Leclerc expressed confidence, saying, “I expect the car to be a step forward in several areas, and from the impression I formed in the simulator, I think we’re where we want to be.”
Leclerc, partnering once again with Spaniard Carlos Sainz, expressed the goal for the upcoming season to consistently be front-runners and deliver exciting performances for their fans. Sainz, who secured a victory in Singapore last season, preventing Red Bull from a clean sweep, expressed excitement about the new look and design of the car, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to drive it.

The 2024 season marks a record 24 races, including the return of China post-pandemic and Italy’s Imola, which was canceled last year due to flooding. Team boss Fred Vasseur, who took over in January 2023, emphasized the need to build on the team’s strong finish from the previous season and address weaknesses. He stressed the importance of being more opportunistic in terms of scoring points.
Despite ending the last season with Leclerc as the runner-up to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi, Ferrari recognizes the areas of improvement and aims to be more competitive in the upcoming season.
