The start of the summer break in Formula 1 gave birth to rumors that Charles Leclerc has signed a new contract with Ferrari, which will be for 2 plus 3 years and will bring a record 185 million euros to the driver from Monaco. Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are currently under contract until the end of 2024, and according to rumors, Sainz has already signed a preliminary contract with Audi and will move to Hinville for the 2025 season.
Sainz has denied this information and announced he wants to stay at Ferrari, and now Leclerc has commented that negotiations over his new contract have not yet started and he’s received offers from other teams. “I take these offers as proof that I am doing my job well,” Leclerc explained to the Corriere della Sera newspaper. “But that doesn’t bother me, because I know what I want.” However, I still don’t know what Ferrari wants from me. Negotiations on my new contract have not yet started, although my position is clear.”
A little earlier this month, Leclerc declared to the media that he had full faith in Frédéric Vasseur’s ability to transform Ferrari and the Scuderia to fight for the world title.
