The Scuderia is still the only top 4 team yet to win a Grand Prix this year

Charles Leclerc believes Ferrari has made no significant strides since last season, insisting the team is in a “very different place” as the 2025 Formula 1 campaign heads into its closing stages.

“I think we are in a very different place to last year,” said the Monegasque driver. “However, to resume it in the simplest way, I feel like Mercedes is very strong whenever it’s cold, and we seem to be stronger whenever it’s warm.”

Looking ahead to the final stretch of the season, Leclerc hopes the weather will play to Ferrari’s strengths. “Looking at the next few races, I hope it’s as warm as it can get, so we have an advantage. I feel like this is what is going to swing the performance one way or another more than any other track characteristic. This is where we stand, and we’ll see how it goes,” he added.

Despite showing good pace at some tracks and securing five podium finishes in 2025, Ferrari remains the only front-running team yet to win a Grand Prix this season. Leclerc’s teammate Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, has yet to stand on a Grand Prix podium, though he did win the Sprint in China earlier this year.

With six Grands Prix and three Sprints remaining, McLaren has already wrapped up its second consecutive constructors’ championship after sealing the title in Singapore. However, the battle for second place remains tight, with Mercedes earning crucial points at Marina Bay to extend its lead over Ferrari as the season nears its conclusion.
