The ‘Thrilla in Manila’, held in October 1975 in the Philippines’ capital, remains etched in boxing lore as one of the sport’s most defining moments. In their third and final encounter, Ali emerged victorious after 14 grueling rounds, with Frazier ultimately retired by his corner team.
The trilogy between Ali and Frazier is hailed as one of boxing’s greatest, with their battles etching indelible marks on the sport’s landscape.
In addition to Ali’s signature, the Everlast trunks also bear the inscription of his corner man, Drew ‘Bundini’ Brown, further enhancing their historical significance. Despite their initial auction post-Brown’s passing fetching a mere $1,000 (£800), these trunks now stand as an invaluable relic of boxing history.
