Seven-time Formula 1 World champion Lewis Hamilton has finally admitted he’s had talks with Ferrari before signing his new contract with Mercedes.
Similar information appeared earlier this year, even before it became clear that the Briton would sign a new contract with his current team. The agreement between him and Mercedes will put him on the same salary as Max Verstappen next season.
The 38-year-old driver has denied on several occasions that he had spoken at all with the Ferrari team, but finally admitted to such conversations to the Swiss publication Blick.
Speaking to Blick, Lewis Hamilton says he was never offered a contract to drive for Ferrari in #F1.
The 7-time champ also admitted he would never have “felt ready to move to Italy” ❌

“Okay, we’ve had a few conversations, really. I know a lot of good people there, but I haven’t been close to moving to Italy,” Hamilton shared.
He was also asked if he had received a specific offer from the Scuderia, to which he replied briefly: “No, never”.
