Lewis Hamilton won his home race at the British Grand Prix on Sunday, achieving a thrilling, record-breaking victory as the lead changed hands several times on a rain-slicked track at Silverstone.
The seven-time world champion rolled back the years to take his first race win since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and secured a record ninth victory at Silverstone.

The packed home crowd erupted in celebrations as a tearful Hamilton paraded around the track, holding the Union Jack aloft from his car.
Hamilton’s old rival, Max Verstappen, was in close contention throughout the race. Despite chipping away at Hamilton’s lead in a dramatic finish, the Red Bull driver was unable to overtake him, securing Hamilton’s place at the top of the podium.

The pole-sitter George Russell had to retire the car midway through the race for damage in the water system, giving a heartbreak for the home driver.
