Arne Slot is on the verge of stepping into the managerial role at Liverpool following the finalization of a compensation deal with Feyenoord.
The 45-year-old Dutchman is set to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who announced his departure from Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season earlier this year.
Slot’s impressive track record includes guiding Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in the 2022-23 season, along with securing the Dutch Cup this season while positioning the club for a second-place finish in their league.
Liverpool’s decision to appoint Slot is believed to be influenced by his team’s attacking style of play, his leadership qualities, and his adeptness at player development.
Slot, who assumed the managerial role at Feyenoord in 2021, had previously expressed interest in managing in the Premier League, having been linked with Tottenham in 2023.

While former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso was also considered a contender for the position, the Spaniard confirmed his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen, where he guided the team to their first Bundesliga title this season.
Similarly, Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim was reported to have been in contention for the role, but the focus ultimately shifted towards Slot as Klopp’s successor.
Klopp, who has been at the helm of Liverpool since October 2015, will be passing the baton to Slot as the club prepares for a new era under his stewardship.
