Liverpool beat Marseille 3-0 in the UCL at Velodrome in Salah’s return

Liverpool secured a 3-0 win against Marseille at Stade Vélodrome in the Champions League and climbed to the 4^th place in the standings with 15 points after 7 matches, while the French team dropped to 19^th place.

The 1^st goal in the game came in the extra time of the 1^st half. Dominik Szoboszlai scored it from a free kick as his low shot was successful.

Everything was decided in the 72^nd minute when the Premier League side doubled its lead. It was an own goal by Geronimo Rulli as he deflected the ball into his own net, and it became clear that the French team would not be able to fight for a draw.

In the extra time, Cody Gakpo, who replaced Hugo Ekitike, scored the final 3rd goal in the game for the classic victory for his team.

That was Mo Salah’s 1^st game back after AFCON as he started from the 1^st minute on the pitch, but didn’t impress with anything significant to affect the game.

Liverpool’s next clash will be on Saturday away from home against Bournemouth, while Marseille will host Lens in Ligue 1.
