Tino was in the stands at the Magpies stadium as the team played their final pre-season game they won against Villarreal.
The defender will become Newcastle’s 3rd new addition during the summer transfer window after Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes.
The 20-year-old full-back joined Southampton from Chelsea 2 years ago for only 7 million dollars.
He suffered an ACL injury in April last year, which ended an impressive breakout campaign, and he has to spend more than a year to fully recover.
He returned to action vs. Brighton at the Amex in the past season as he entered from the bench twice in the past campaign.
Newcastle will start the new Premier League campaign against Aston Villa at home on Saturday, August 12th.
