Atalanta defeated Leverkusen to triumph in the UEFA Europa League.

Ademola Lookman’s hattrick led Atalanta to a 3-0 victory against Bayer Leverkusen as that was the German team’s 1st defeat in all tournaments in the current season, and the Italian side will take home the Europa League trophy.

Ademola Lookman opened the score in the 12th minute after Davide Zappacosta’s assist. Ademola netted his 2nd goal to double the Italian team lead in the 26th minute.

Ademola Lookman sealed his hattrick and the trophy for his club in the 75th minute when he scored very beautiful goal from inside the box after Gianluca Scamacca’s assist; as also ended Leverkusen’s unbeaten campaign as they won the Bundesliga without a single defeat.

The Bergamo side triumph means that Serie A can have 6 teams in the Champions League next season but only if Atalanta finished 5th in the league as that is the club’s current position. If they finish higher, Italy will have only 5 teams in the UCL next campaign.

Xabi Alonso’s side don’t have time to be sad about the defeat because on Saturday they face 2nd-tier Kaiserslautern in the DFB Pokal final with a chance for another trophy.
