For the LA MLB franchise to re-acquire the player, they send pitchers Nick Robertson and Justin Hagenman to the Red Sox.
Kiké (31) spent 6 years with Los Angeles from 2015 to 2020, being part of the Dodgers team that won against the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series in his final campaign. Hernandez linked with Boston in February of 2021.
The Puerto Rican player has played 86 matches so far with Red Sox as he had only 6 homers and 31 runs batted in.
Hernandez was picked by the Houston Astros in the 6th round of the MLB Draft in 2009 and started playing with Houston in the MLB in 2014 before being exchanged to the Miami Marlins. Marlins also traded him after the end of the campaign, as he landed in Los Angeles.
In his more than 1,000 matches in Major League Baseball over 10 campaigns, he has 103 homers and 363 runs batted in.
The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers are finalizing a trade that would send superutilityman Kiké Hernandez to the Dodgers, sources tell ESPN.
He has spent most of the 2023 season at shortstop but can play second base and center field as well.
